square bullet General Resources

dot Author Pen Names & Pseudonyms -- Search for other names an author might go by, or their real name if another name is commonly used. An example would be Stephen King. He has also published under the pseudonyms Richard Bachman and John Swithen.
dot Bookreporter.com -- Includes book reviews, reading group guides, interviews, author information & bibliographies. Another nice feature of this site is their 'Books to Movies' section, a guide to new movies coming out that are based on books.
dot Bookspot -- This site is loaded with information: book reviews, genre guides, reading lists, book shopping suggestions, author information, online books, discussion groups, and more.
dot Genreflecting
dot NoveList -- A fiction database that provides access to information on more than 135,000 titles. In addition to being able to look up information on titles and authors via regular searches and browsing, this service also offers read-alike guides (help finding another author similar to one you already know and like), discussion guides, annotated book lists, and school resources for teaching books. This is a subscription service that requires your library card number and PIN number.
dot What's Next -- This site allows you to search adult series fiction. Simply put in a title, author name, or series title and a sequential list of the books in the series will be displayed. (Note: Sometimes there is a time lag, and the newest books are not always listed immediately.)

square bullet Book Reviews

dot BookPage -- Our library also offers a print version of this resource for free.
dot Publishers Weekly -- Offers reviews on a wide variety of books. It does require a subscription that's a rather hefty fee, but it does offer a free 30 day trial.
dot New Pages.com -- A guide to book review websites.
dot New York Times Book Review -- Offers book reviews that can be searched all the way back to 1981.
