Program Description

Event Details

Reading takes you places where you can’t always travel on your own, but writing puts you in the driver’s seat and lets you plot the course for your own adventures.

If you’re an aspiring young writer in grades 5-8, join local authors Marie Mitchell and Mason Smith on a journey to collaboratively write a short story in a single week—pausing along the way to discover how to create colorful characters, develop dynamic dialogue, sneak in some suspense and write a realistic resolution.

We’ll wrap up the week with a public Author’s Reading at the library, manuscript signing and refreshments, plus plenty of encouragement to keep on writing.

**Please note: The Plot Thickens: A Short Story Workshop For Young Aspiring Writers is a week-long series. Please register for each session offered through the week.
